Champions Against Bullying

Privacy Policy

Champions Against Bullying ("CAB," "we," "us") is a nonprofit organization based in Louisiana. This statement explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate the site and respond to you.

Information we collect

  • Messages you send us. When you use the contact or "request a workshop" form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide. This is delivered to us by email (through Cloudflare Email Routing) so we can reply. We do not require you to create an account.
  • Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider (Render) and our content-delivery/security provider (Cloudflare) automatically record standard information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Usage analytics. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used (for example, aggregated clicks and scrolling). Clarity may set cookies and capture interaction data. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
  • Donations. Donations are processed by PayPal on PayPal's own pages. We do not collect or store your card or bank details; PayPal's privacy policy applies.
  • Scheduling. If we offer online booking through a third-party scheduler, any information you enter there is handled under that provider's privacy policy.

How we use information

We use the information above to respond to your messages, operate and secure the website, and improve our content. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site (email delivery, hosting, analytics, and payment processing), and only as needed for those services — or when required by law.

Third-party service providers

These are the outside companies that help us run this website and what they handle:

Children's privacy

Our work serves families and schools, but this website is intended for adults such as parents, educators, and supporters. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

The site itself does not use advertising cookies. Our analytics provider may set cookies as described above. You can turn analytics cookies off on our Cookie Preferences page, or block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work either way.

We may use cookies, analytics tools, and other third-party services (see the table above) that collect information about your interactions with this website; those providers may process information under their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. If that were ever to change, you would be able to opt out using our Cookie Preferences page or by contacting us — see "State-Specific Privacy Rights" below.

State-Specific Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and subject to applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, share, or otherwise process. Some state privacy laws only apply to organizations that meet certain revenue or data-volume thresholds, sell personal information, or run targeted advertising — several also exempt nonprofit organizations like ours outright. Where applicable, these rights may include the right to:

  1. Confirm whether we process your personal information;
  2. Access the personal information we maintain about you;
  3. Correct inaccuracies in your personal information;
  4. Request deletion of your personal information;
  5. Obtain a copy of certain personal information in a portable format;
  6. Opt out of the sale of personal information, the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, or certain profiling activities;
  7. Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
  8. Appeal a decision we make regarding a privacy rights request, where applicable; and
  9. Be free from unlawful discrimination or retaliation for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@championsagainstbullying.org. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. If you submit a request through an authorized agent, we may require proof that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf and may also ask you to verify your identity directly with us.

If we deny your request, in whole or in part, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at the same address and stating that you are appealing a privacy rights decision.

We will respond to privacy rights requests within the time required by applicable law. Some rights may be limited by legal exceptions, including where we need to retain information to provide services, complete transactions, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, protect security, or exercise legal rights.

We do not currently sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front today. Where required by applicable law, we will honor recognized browser- or device-based opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) for residents of states where such signals must be honored, if and when that ever becomes relevant to how we process information.

Security & retention

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold and keep it only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain our records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Louisiana-specific notices

Champions Against Bullying is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, incorporated and based in Louisiana. A few Louisiana-law points that apply specifically to us:

  • Louisiana Data Privacy Act. Louisiana's comprehensive privacy law (the Louisiana Data Privacy Act, effective January 1, 2027) exempts nonprofit organizations like ours at the entity level, so the additional consumer-rights notices it requires of covered businesses don't apply to us. We still follow the practices described throughout this policy.
  • Charitable solicitation. Louisiana requires charitable-solicitation registration only for organizations that use a paid, professional solicitor to raise funds. We don't — our fundraising is run by our own staff and volunteers — so we are not required to register with the State of Louisiana to solicit donations through this site.
  • Security breach notification. If we ever experience a breach of the security of your personal information as defined by Louisiana's Database Security Breach Notification Law (La. R.S. 51:3071 et seq.), we will notify affected individuals as that law requires. In the situations the law allows for substitute notice (for example, if direct notice would be unusually costly or reach an unusually large group), that notice may include a posting on this website in addition to email.
